Notes

Christ as priest after the order of Melchizedek (quoted in Matthew 22:44; Hebrews 5–7). Psalm 110 features David recounting Yahweh's announcement to his Lord, inviting him to sit at His right hand. The psalm describes the granting of royal authority and the glory of the king's power. It includes Yahweh's declaration of the Lord's installation as a high priest and David's responses detailing the Lord's victories and refreshment. The psalm has a chiastic structure with two stanzas and emphasizes Yahweh's oracles and oaths.
