Notes
Psalm 149 again opens and closes with “hallelujahs.” In 149:1b–3 stand a series of commands to praise Yahweh. The corresponding section at the end of the psalm speaks of how Yahweh’s people will do justice on the wicked in 149:7–9b. The psalm’s central statements speak of how Yahweh beautifies the afflicted with salvation and how the saved respond with praise in verses 4–6.
