Notes

Psalm 86 features a chiastic structure with three main sections: a plea for grace (verses 1–7), a celebration of God's steadfast love (verses 8–13), and a renewed appeal for grace (verses 14–17). The prayer "be gracious to me" is emphasized in verses 3 and 16. The first section consists of David's petitions, while the second focuses on worship and glorifying God's name. The final section addresses David's enemies and reiterates God's character and assistance.
